Hello Susan,

As you know, my flight was scheduled to take off soon, but after leaving the ticketing counter, I got an update that my flight was delayed. Needless to say, my schedule will be affected, but I can handle the changes myself. The most important one is the meeting with the client, and I’ve already called and left him a message. I’m just waiting for him to return my call.

Next, I’m probably going to arrive quite late because of the delay. Your offer to pick me up and drop me off at the hotel is very generous, but please don’t trouble yourself with going all the way to the airport. I know there’s a lot to talk about, but we can talk at the office tomorrow afternoon when I get there. Speaking of the office, congratulations to the sales team - I heard they had a great quarter. They should be proud of themselves!

Also, the Director in Bogotá said that the old GM was handling all of the negotiations himself. He left a folder full of notes at the office. If you haven’t done so already, try to find that folder before I arrive. We’ll really help ourselves if we can review his notes before the meeting.

Lastly, if there’s time, I’d like to see some of the tourist sights.

Reflexive pronouns

Practice task

Complete the email from the class by talking about some of the tourist sights that you would want to visit in London. Try to use as many reflexive pronouns as possible. For example, “I did some research myself and this is what I found”.

Lastly, if there’s time, I’d like to see some of the tourist sights.

I’ve made some research myself and I found some pretty interesting places. And I would like to know if I have to do these trips by myself. I’ll be direct, I would enjoy your company, and perhaps this is outside the terms of business, but I want to invite you on a date going to one or maybe more of these sights:

To start with, I would like to visit Buckingham Palace. I have heard that no one marches like the royal soldiers themselves.

Then, we can visit the Natural History Museum. I like dinosaurs a lot. I’ve never seen the fossils of one of those. And also, of course, I want to know more about England’s history.

If we have time, we can visit the Tower Bridge. I’ve heard it is one of the most iconic structures of London. And I personally think it is beautiful.

I’m look forward to reading your response to the date. I hope I was not too presumptuous with the invitation.

Kind Regards,

Chris.
