Elena: Hey! Let’s go to the train station! I hope the tickets aren’t too expensive. Ravee: You are right, we should have bought the tickets earlier online. We may have waited too long! Elena: Ok let’s see there is a train that leaves at 5pm later today. There is another one that leaves at 8pm tonight. Tomorrow there is a train that leaves at 7am. Ravee: Hmmm…why don’t we take the train that leaves at 5pm, that way we won’t arrive too late at night. And I don’t feel like waking up early hahaha. Elena: Ok yeah that sounds good to me! Ravee: Great, let’s meet at the station at 4.45pm. Elena: And what about your friend who is coming with us? When do they come into town? Ravee: Oh she arrives later today at 12pm so she shouldn’t have a problem making the train. Elena: Ok good, I just wanted to make sure! Ravee: Cool see you at the station then at 4:45 to make sure we don’t miss our train. Elena: I’ll be there see ya soon.

As you noticed they mention timetables or schedules, which are often used in the present simple but referring to the future, such as ‘the train leaves tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.’. We can also use the present simple when referring to the future for sports as well.
